cat rescues
My sister and I have been feeding strays since we were children. But as children we did not have any say on whether we could adopt even one. We were made to give up two cats we rescued, which gave us trust issues, manipulated and bullied by adults who took the cats, put them in a sack and brought them to the public market where they likely met immediate deaths.

When I became an adult, moved the family to a bigger house, and started paying the rent and bills, that's when I finally got a say and I adopted Mogget from a friend's cat's unexpected litter. Yet even then, I had to hide Mogget for two weeks in my room to prove that the cat can be present in the house but not cause trouble to anyone else.
My dad and my sister are the cat lovers like me. And during the pandemic, we rescued Dex the mama cat and her two babies, Okaka and Caramel) who were going hungry from lack of food since everyone was locked in their homes. Then Taro came while my dad was confined in the hospital for Covid. Five years later we have almost 20 rescues, losing a few along the way which always broke our hearts but we console ourselves with the thought that their last days were at least filled with love.

All art shop sales will go to support these rescue cats, particularly their vet bills for vaccines, deworming, diseases and senior care.
