Blogging as Therapy

This is why and how I plan to blog from now on. I will write for myself, for my mental health, and for anyone who needs to read what I write. Maybe I can inspire somehow. Maybe I can make even the tiniest positive difference in someone's life.

I used to try to blog in the hopes of turning it into a money-making side-hustle of some sort, and of course to promote my art so it can also generate some income.

I kept failing because the joy of just writing for the sake of writing kept on getting crushed by the pressure of performance. Blogging became a chore, a job, an obligation.

I only had 20 blog posts in 2023. They dealt with personal matters but they were also very self-conscious posts that wanted to earn some following that I could turn into customers.

I realize that I don't want to care about the monetization and the hustle. I just want to write for the sheer pleasure of it, and for the therapeutic benefits of just being myself talking to my selves.

As such, my blog topics will naturally gravitate to subjects that I value: art, mental health, the climate crisis, work, home, food, gardening, nature, books, science. They may seem too diverse now but later on they will all come together into a pattern of a life that has long been in limbo and only now finally finding solid ground.

I will write about the most mundane things as well as less common things. Sometimes I will ramble. Sometimes I will be driving towards a specific point.

In the course of all the writing I hope to find my way back into the impossible garden and the wildforest.
